User review of James Bond 007 Digital Camera

In 10 words or less: worth buying if omnipresence and ease of use trumps quality.

I bought the camera for about $100 from ThinkGeek.

It's very convenient. It has a cigarette lighter-like exoskeleton, comes with a little snap-closed fabric case which unfortunately has no belt loop.

(Photo was taken with different camera)

The camera supposedly does a ton of different things (recording 30 sec of video, recording 8 (?)minutes of audio, time lapse...) but I haven't tried these. Also you can use it as a removable hard drive.

As for the photos...

Not great. It can't handle a wide range of luminance, you do NOT want to take pictures with mixed sun and shade. Here are some outdoor samples taken on a sunny Nevada City morning (no image processing, these are straight from the camera's USB port):

They say you can use it indoors under fluorescent lighting. True, in a literal sense, plus then you can extort a lot of money from your subject, who will not want his purported likeness to see the light of day.

Nice nose, don't you think?

Sometimes they come out better though. At the retirement villa:
